Rocker Switch (Boat-Type Switch)
A rocker switch, also known as a boat-type switch, is a common mechanical switch. Its operation resembles that of a seesaw—when one end of the switch is pressed, the other end lifts, allowing the circuit to be opened or closed.
Structure and Working Principle:
- The rocker switch contains an internal spring mechanism and contact structure.
- When you press one end of the switch, it actuates the internal contacts to either connect (ON) or disconnect (OFF) the circuit.
- It is typically marked with symbols such as “I / O” or “ON / OFF” to clearly indicate the switch status.
